“Have you heard about the new course..?” “Are you going to join the next batch..?” “Let’s join the morning class..!”
Drop the kids to school, hit the gym, take an online class, cook, pick the kids, homework.
And the list is never ending!
Does your day typically start and end on the same note?
Do we feel like doing everything, everywhere? Putting our part in a bit of this and a bit of that.
Well, what if I were to tell you, less is more?
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little.” (Sahih Bukhari)
Yes! It is not the quantity that matters, but the quality we give to every endeavour in our life.
You may spend just an hour with your parents but you made it all about them and brought a smile to their faces. You conversed with your child for just 15 minutes but that was just the emotional connection he needed to kickstart his day.
You might just be sincerely and consistently praying Tahajjud besides your fardh duties and gaining a huge reward for this consistent deed!
So do not belittle any good deed, small or big. Make sure you are doing it solely for the sake of Allah SWT and following the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
