Relying on our Rabb

Relying on our Rabb

‘Tawakkul’ in Allah is such a deep phrase. It means to make Allah (SWT) your ‘Wakeel’.

What comes to your mind? Most likely a lawyer. A wakeel is someone who fights your case in court and presents it in such a way that you win.

It means leaving our matters, grief, anxiety or any difficulty to Allah (SWT). It is having deep trust that no matter what happens, Allah has knowledge of what is best for us in any given situation and He will look after us regardless.

What a beautiful feeling this is.

The Prophet (SAW) said: “If you were to do Tawakkul in Allah with the Tawakkul that is due on Him, you would be provided for the way birds are given Rizq: They go out hungry in the morning and come back with full stomachs in the evening.”*

Alhumdulillah. This is a beautiful parable. It is like relying on Allah (SWT) to the extent that nothing comes between the slave and his Creator.
